[Solved] O365 : Trouble shooting Office 365 / Outlook e-mail problems, complete checklist.

I’ve been trouble shooting Office 365 e-mail (outlook) errors, for several months now.

There are many different errors, who need a different solution.

I’ve created a complete checklist for these problems.

I’ll hope you can use this list.

  1. Is the problem only at one user, of does everyone have this problem?
    1. Everyone, check your Office 365 Dashboard:

      http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=402339

    2. Only one person, go to step 2
  2. Open Outlook Web Access (OWA), is the problem also active in OWA?
    1. If so, contact Microsoft directly, because there is something wrong with this mailbox.
    2. If not, go to step 3.
  3. Sign in at the following webpage with the costumer login and check if the website found Outlook connection problems:

    https://portal.office.com/support/help.aspx?sid=sara&ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US#/

  4. Repair your Outlook profile:

An Outlook profile is a set of configuration information that includes your user name, password, and file storage location. Repair your Outlook profile by using the following steps.

    1. Choose File.
    2. Choose the down arrow for Account Settings, and then choose Account Settings.
    3. On the Email tab, choose your account (profile), and then choose Repair.
    4. Follow the prompts in the wizard, and when you’re done, restart Outlook.

  8. Enable Outlook logging:

On the File tab, click Options.

In the Outlook Options dialog box, click Advanced.

In the Other section, select the Enable troubleshooting logging (requires restarting Outlook) check box, and then click OK.

Clear all the files from “C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Temp\outlook logging”

Reopen Outlook and wait for the issue to be reproduced

Note the EXACT date/time HH:MM:SS when the issue was reproduced

Once the issue is reproduced, disable advanced logging and close the Outlook client

Zip all saved logs, and create a service request on the Office 365 portal, and upload all these logs, and explain every step taken.
