Using IE 11. This prompt has been a chronic problem for me. I’ve tried this remedy without success as well as ‘reset’ browser. No difference if I answer the ‘prompt’ yes or no. More times than not it freezes/closes the page I’m attempting to view. Any other ideas welcome!

      Hello Bea,
You mention that your browser sometimes freezes.
usually this means there is someting wrong with the installation.

Try to update your computer with windows updates
Try to check your windows installation with ‘sfc / scannow’ in a dos box.

      Good luck.

Same problem in IE11 — pops up every time. IE11 doesn’t freeze, however, and works well otherwise.

      Hello Al,
have you tried, resetting your IE settings? Have you used windows updates ?
If the problem persists, search your event viewer for errors.

      • I have tried resetting IE settings including the Downloads to Enable and Disable, plus resetting to Defaults. No help. All Microsoft updates are installed. There are no events logged that I can find, though I am not very familiar with this function. Problem still occurs.

I’ve been googling for a solution to this problem; exactly the same as Al Kennedy.

Windows 7, IE11, NIS 2014, all updates installed.

I’ve tried everything apart from re-installing IE 11.

Any suggestions gratefully received as this is driving me crazy.

    Thanks in advance.

May be you first have to reset your Internet Explorer settings:
( Internet explorer options => advanced => Reset settings )

This also is for Al Kennedy :)

      • I tried all the recommendations and nothing worked. I finally dropped the site that was sending daily emails and was the main offender. Other sited sometimes pop up but not nearly as often.

The only solution i can think of, is lowering your UAC to the lowest level.
